IN CONJUNCTION WITH RCM TECHNOLOGIES, INC., BILOW GARRETT GROUP STAFF DESIGNED, DEVELOPED, AND SERVED AS ARCHITECTS OF RECORD AND LEED ACCREDITED PROFESSIONALS FOR THIS MAINTENANCE FACILITY FOR THE NEW JERSEY UTILITY COMPANY. THE NEW BUILDING IS A 15,000 SQUARE FOOT, THREE STORY BUILDING LOCATED ON THE UTILITY COMPANY’S GROUNDS IN KEARNY, NJ. THE BUILDING WAS DESIGNED TO ACCOM- MODATE MAINTENANCE GARAGE BAYS ON THE GROUND FLOOR WITH OFFICES, LOCKER ROOMS, LUNCH AND MEETING FACILITIES ON THE FLOORS ABOVE.

THE BUILDING IS PENDING LEED SILVER CERTIFICATION BY THE UNITED STATES GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (USGBC). SOME OF THE SUSTAINABLE BUILDING STRATEGIES INTEGRATED INTO THE PROJECT INCLUDE ROOF GARDENS, SOLAR METAL PANEL SIDING DESIGNED TO COLLECT SOLAR HEAT IN THE WINTER AND DIFFUSE HEAT GAIN IN THE SUMMER, AND SITE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS DESIGNED TO RETAIN AND DISPERSE STORMWATER ON SITE.
